Mexico City, Mexico — Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador sent his condolences to the British family of the Queen of England. On Thursday, the family announced her passing at the age of 96.
Hours after that announcement, both Mexico’s President López Obrador and the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard, expressed their condolences to “the people and government of the United Kingdom.”
On social media, López Obrador posted “I send my condolences to the people of the United Kingdom on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, British monarch and ruler of 14 independent states. In the same way, I extend them to your family, friends and members of the Royal House.”
On Thursday, Buckingham Palace announced that “the Queen died peacefully at Balmoral.”
