Mexico offers its condolences in U.S. elementary school shooting

Mexico City, Mexico — President Andrés Manuel López Obrador expressed his condolences for the Uvalde, Texas shooting that left 21 dead. On Wednesday, Mexico’s president expressed his solidarity and sent a hug to the families of the deceased, among whom are 19 minors and two adults.

“Send my condolences, my pain, convey my solidarity with the families of the children and young people who lost their lives yesterday, send them a big hug,” he said.

AMLO clarified that there is no record of national victims in the shooting, however, he said that most of them are of Mexican origin. “Just look at the surnames. They are children, grandchildren of Mexicans, it hurts us a lot, we are sorry,” he added.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico offered its consular support for those affected by the Robb Elementary School shooting.
