Chetumal, Q.R. — A judge has denied the request for dismissal and extinction of precautionary measures as requested by the defense lawyers of the former Governor of Quintana Roo, Roberto Borge Angulo.
Borge’s lawyers argued that there is not enough evidence to prove a crime, requesting the case be dismissed, however, the judge considered that sufficient data had also not been provided to dismiss any crimes.
After the five hour hearing, the presiding judge ruled that Borge will remain behind bars in a Morelos prison. The former governor remains in prison for charges of irregular performance of the public function during his time as governor of Quintana Roo.
