Holbox, Q.R. — A Holbox man will remain behind bars for his alleged participation in the crime of rape to the detriment of a female victim. On Wednesday, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) said a judge has ordered Fabián “N” to remain jailed after being formally charged with rape.
According to the Agency, he is being held “for events that occurred on October 6 of the current year when the accused, identified as Fabián “N”, was identified by the victim as the person who rented a house located on the island of Holbox to her and her husband through a digital platform.
“Once at the property, the couple consumed alcoholic beverages and at one point the accused allegedly raped the woman,” the FGE reported in a statement.
Based on the complaint filed by the victim, an investigation began into the allegations which lead to a judge-issued arrest warrant against Fabián “N”.
“After completing the court order, the accused was placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry. Subsequently, he has been charged for the crime of rape. Likewise, it was decreed to apply the precautionary measure of informal preventive detention for a period of two years or the duration of the process,” they added.
