Bacalar, Q.R. — A Sunday collision between a motorcycle and bus in the municipality of Bacalar has left two dead. The crash happened Sunday afternoon along a section of highway where responding emergency personnel found two bodies.
The driver of the bus is reported to have fled the scene.
Witnesses called for help after seeing the bike and bus collide off a Bacalar access road near the federal highway.
Police arrived to two bodies and a completely destroyed motorcycle. Paramedics were called in but unable to help the motorcycle riders since both the man and woman were found dead upon their arrival.
Witnesses were able to provide information to police including the name of the company bus alleged involved in the accident. Details surrounding the cause of the double fatal accident are not known.
Police partially closed the highway to traffic while Forensic Services personnel processed the scene.
