The broadcaster, who has not been publicly named, was taken to the General Hospital after receiving a strong electric shock while on the air. The man ended up in the emergency room after suffering a severe electric shock when the station’s transmission antenna was hit Monday afternoon.
The strike hit the antenna of La Estrella Maya Que Habla station, identified as retro station XHECPQ-FM 102.1, around 3:50 p.m.
According to initial reports, the broadcaster was on air and transmitting live when the thunderstorm rolled through.
