Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — A public combi running the Cancun-Playa del Carmen route lost control and crashed into the base of an ad structure, leaving two people seriously injured.
The accident happened at 11:30 a.m. Monday along the Puerto Morelos-Playa del Carmen section of highway at kilometer 312. Witnesses indicated that the driver fell asleep and collided with the metal structure.
The driver and his co-pilot were seriously injured, while the two passengers in the van were left without any injuries. However, all four were taken to hospital for medical treatment.
