Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Police in the community of Leona Vicario arrived to a crime scene Wednesday where two men lay dead outside a store. Both men were the target of an armed attack that happened Wednesday evening in the municipality of Puerto Morelos.
The shootings took place outside a community convenience store on Miguel Domínguez Street where three people were shot. One of the victims, a woman, was injured and taken to a Cancun hospital by family members. The other two victims, both men, died at the scene.
Witnessed were able to provide police with a description of the red truck that arrived with the armed men who shot at the three people who were on foot.
Elements of the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security and Transit (SMSCyT) , State Police, National Guard and Army were at the site. Police scoured the area for the described vehicle, but did not locate it.
Several shell casings were found at the scene near the bodies. The deceased have not been identified.
