Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Police are investigating the shooting death of two adults in the municipality of Puerto Morelos. On Tuesday, the bodies of two people were found dead inside a car on the side of the highway.
The shooting happened outside the town of Leona Vicario. Reports say the deceased were a man and woman. Neither have been identified.
They were traveling the 180 federal highway when they were shot at. The vehicle was found Tuesday morning and reported to authorities around 7:20 a.m.
Municipal Puerto Morelos police found their silver car riddled by bullets on the driver’s side.
Inside the car were the two deceased. The vehicle was traveling west at the time of the shooting.
Responding officers confirmed the death of two inside the silver Nissan Versa, which was found partially off the road. Paramedics confirmed both the man and women inside were dead.
The area was cordoned off for the arrival of personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE). Authorities have not commented on the shooting.
