Three woman charged with prostituting minors

Lázaro Cárdenas, Q.R. — The State Attorney General’s (FGE) Office rescued two teenagers, alleged victims of human trafficking in the form of prostitution. The FGE also obtained the prosecution of three women who allegedly forced minors to perform sexual services.

“The events for which Zoyla “N”, Karla Evangelina “N” and Elsy “N” were arrested and charged occurred in the town of El Cedral, in the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas.

“As a result of an operation carried out by personnel from the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Crimes of Trafficking and Exploitation of Girls, Boys and Adolescents, two teenagers were rescued, one aged 16 and the other 13, as well as a one-year-old girl,” the FGE reported.

“Initial investigations indicate that due to the precarious economic situation in which the 16-year-old teenager lives, for approximately a year, her relatives Karla Evangelina “N” and Zoyla “N” were getting her clients to whom she offered sexual services in order to obtain money to support her one-year-old daughter, the product of a rape.

“Meanwhile, the 13-year-old teenager was photographed naked by her neighbor Elsy “N” and published on a social network in order to offer her for sexual work, for which he charged 1,500 pesos, but she only gave the minor 60 to 80 pesos,” the agency reported.

Zoyla “N”, Karla Evangelina “N” and Elsy “N” are facing charges “for their possible participation in the commission of the crime of human trafficking in its form of prostitution of others.” All three women are to remain in preventive detention for two years or the duration of the process.
