Seven victims of forced prostitution removed from five properties during Cancun searches

Cancun, Q.R. — Seven female victims of human trafficking were rescued by police Tuesday in five Cancun property searches. According to police, all seven women were victims of forced prostitution.

The five properties were searched with warrants in relation to a suspected human trafficking investigation. Authorities said the investigation involved members of the Investigative Police, National Guard and the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating the Crime of Trafficking Persons.

During the five search operations, items including computers, identification, bank terminals, sex toys and cell phones were seized.

In one instance, a property on Isla Fuji street in the Paraíso Cancún condominium in SM 317 was searched. The owner, police have identified as Eduardo “N”, was arrested since he was at the scene and listed as the owner.

A total of seven women were located during the five property searches. All five properties were seized and remain in the custody of the state.
