Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — A grid truck that crashed into a transport van on highway 307 left seven people injured. One of the injured was the driver of the van who was trapped in his unit. Firemen were called to the scene to free him from the crushed metal using the jaws of life.
The accident was reported around 2:30 to emergency services along on the Cancun-Puerto Morelos section of highway. Seven ambulances were sent to the accident site along with police in addition to firemen and members of the Red Cross, who arrived to help the injured.
Five of the seven involved in the crash were transferred to hospital. Police did not provide details about the cause of the accident.
