Cancun, Q.R. — A man was shot and killed Monday evening in the Valle Verde neighborhood near Jose Lopez Portillo Avenue. Police and emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of gunfire.
Upon arrival, they found a man of around 30 years old lying against a building with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics assessed him and determined that he had no vital signs.
The man was reported walking when he was approached and shot in the 7:00 p.m. targeted attack. During the shooting, witnesses said he tried to run away but collapsed as he ran off the street.
Forensics personnel processed the scene, collecting more than a dozen spent shell casings. According to witness accounts, the attackers escaped on a motorcycle. No arrests have been reported so far.
