Cancun, Q.R. — A man that was being chased by a group of people was left for dead inside a Cancun grocery store Sunday. Witnesses reported seeing the victim run into the store for cover while being pursued by armed men.
Shoppers inside the store ran as the targeted man attempted to hide from several individuals chasing him. The man was shot several times before the armed group fled the area.
Police were called to the grocery store in SM 107 around 5:30 p.m. by employees. Several police units were seen parked outside the store on Paraíso Maya Avenue near the intersection with José López Portillo Avenue.
Witnesses said one of the armed men chasing him followed him into the grocery store and shot him several times before running away. There were no other injuries reported during the afternoon incident.
