Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — The body of a man found shot along the federal highway was reported Saturday. Passing motorists reported what they believed to be the body of an adult male in the municipality of Puerto Morelos.
Emergency 9-1-1 sent police to the area just north of the town of Puerto Morelos to verify the 8:00 a.m. report. At the scene, authorities found the dead body of a man who had been shot.
The body was located along the side of the federal highway near brush. He had one bullet wound to his head. National Guard Highways were requested to secure the shoulder with orange cones while police secured the crime scene.
Investigative Police were brought in to collect evidence. The deceased is reported to have been between the ages of 27 and 30. Additional details were not provided.
