Cancun, Q.R. — Police in Cancun made a large pot bust Monday worth over 3.9 million pesos during a private property search. Authorities say over 330 large packages of marijuana totaling 166 kilos was seized from the home during the operation.

“During the execution of a search warrant, personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office, in coordination with elements of the Navy, Defense, National Guard and Municipal Police, seized 332 packages of green dried herb, with the characteristics of marijuana,” they reported Monday.
The operation was carried out Monday at a property on De los Quetzales Street and 145 Avenue in the Barrio Maya subdivision of Cancun.
“At the location, the participating agents secured 332 bags of green and dry herb, with an approximate weight of 500 grams each, that is, 166 kilograms in total.
“That is equivalent to 6,640 ounces which have a price of 600 pesos per ounce, so the total value of the packages is 3.9 million pesos,” they said.
Investigation Police assigned to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Trafficking, proceeded to seize the property, which was placed under the custody of the state.
The evidence secured was made available to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to be included in the investigation file for this case.
