Cancun, Q.R. — A construction worker was left for dead Monday near a housing development after being physically assaulted. Coworkers from the site reported finding the man laying face down next to the Los Héroes real estate development.
Municipal police officers arrived at the intersection of Chac Mool and Chetumal avenues Monday afternoon in response to the report. Other construction site workers reported finding him unconscious with multiple injuries outside the property.
Paramedics were called in who arrived only to confirm the man’s death. Police proceeded to cordon off the area while Investigative Police were notified to begin an investigation.
Authorities are using city cameras to investigate if the man was assaulted on the construction site then dragged to where he was found or if the assault happened where he was located.
The deceased man has been identified as 40 year old Abel “N”. Police did not speculate on a possible motive or how many people could have been involved.
