Cancun, Q.R. — A woman was shot and killed Thursday afternoon in SM 235 of Cancun after being targeted in a direct attack. Police rushed to 116th Street in response to residential reports of the woman being shot.
Officers found the woman laying unconscious on the sidewalk. By the time the ambulance arrived, she had died. Paramedics confirmed her death after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
Preliminary reports indicate that her attackers fled the scene on a black motorcycle but not before throwing a piece of cardboard with a threat message next to her body.
Several area residents claimed the woman was a known drug user.
Investigative Police are continuing with their investigation. The deceased woman has not been named.
