Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Highway traffic through Puerto Morelos was slow-going Wednesday due to a two vehicle accident. National Guard pushed traffic along the one open lane after a car and van collided early Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened on a section of the federal highway approximately 12 kilometers north of the town of Puerto Morelos.
Early information says the driver of the car made a quick lane change, cutting off the oncoming van and causing the car to spin off the road. Both vehicles were left inoperable.
Emergency services from Puerto Morelos attended to the scene where paramedics treated three people roadside for minor injuries.
