Lázaro Cárdenas, Q.R. — Schools and health centres in the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas are up for millions in renovations. On Monday, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa announced more than 17 million pesos for the construction, equipment and rehabilitation of schools.

The schools that will benefit from the rehabilitation are located in the towns of Santo Domingo, Solferino and Holbox, all of which belong to the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas.

“When corruption is fought, there is more than enough money. Today, we are investing in education and we endorse our commitment to strengthen the sector for the benefit of its training for the future,” she commented during her visit to Holbox.

Through the Institute of Educational Physical Infrastructure of the State of Quintana Roo (IFEQROO), 17.9 million pesos will be invested in the schools. That investment, Lezama reported, will also include new computers, projectors, internet, air conditioners, classroom furniture and lighting.

During her work tour, she also visited the visit to the Kantuninkil Hospital where she announced 5 million pesos will be spent on the maintenance conservation of the Integral Hospital of Lázaro Cárdenas and six health centres.

The medical centres included in the investment are El Ideal, El Tintal, Ignacio Zaragoza, Nuevo X-cán, San Lorenzo and San Martiniano. She said work will begin immediately at the Kantunilkin General Hospital in Ignacio Zaragoza and in El Tintal and in coming days for the other health centres.
