Members of criminal group known to police for drug dealing, surveillance and contract killings captured

Lázaro Cárdenas, Q.R. — Six people police say are members of a criminal group known for narcotics, surveillance and killings were taken into custody. They were arrested Tuesday in separate operations in the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas.

Local authorities say all six are facing charges of drug dealing.

Manuel Aurelio “N”, Manuel Enrique “N”, Jorge Eduardo “N” and Hannia Michel “N” were arrested near Insurgentes Avenues in the town of Kantunilkín. They seized dried green herb with characteristics similar to marijuana as well as a black Bajaj brand motorcycle without license plates.

On a dirt road in the town of San Ángel, José Alfredo “N”, alias “Winnie the Pooh”, and José Eliezer “N”, alias “Kalu”, were arrested.

They were found in possession of a green, dried herb similar to marijuana. These individuals were riding a black Bajaj Dominar 400cc motorcycle without license plates and a tampered-with ignition switch.

Police did not say if the bike was stolen.

“According to initial investigations, the six detainees are alleged members of a criminal group dedicated to drug dealing and contract killings, surveillance of rivals and authorities traveling on the highway,” police said.

“In the case of José Alfredo “N” and José Eliezer “N”, they would also be related to events possibly constituting the crime of aggravated homicide against a male person,” they added.
