Judge hands down 37 year prison sentence for aggravated homicide

Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun judge has handed down a 37 year sentence to a man found guilty of the 2021 murder of a Cuban woman. Police say Aarón Abinadi Palomo Cabrera was found guilty of a 2021 and sentenced to 37 years and six months in prison.

Aarón Abinadi Palomo Cabrera was found guilty of aggravated homicide against a woman whom he shot to death.

According to police investigations, the shooting occurred in November 2021 when Aarón Abinadi Palomo Cabrera, in the company of another subject, was given a firearm and the order from another man to shoot and kill the woman.

Police have not named the woman, but have said she was of Cuban nationality.

After the shooting, the men traveled on a motorcycle to a residence in the Haciendas Real del Caribe subdivision where the victim lived. The shooting between the woman and two men was said to have been over an internal conflict.
