Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Authorities are investigating the discovery of a burned-out SUV on the Felipe Carrillo Puerto highway. The Jeep was found completely gutted near San José II Wednesday.
The vehicle was found burning on the highway around two kilometers from the community of San José II Wednesday morning.
The discovery was made Wednesday morning by local workers who reported what turned out to be a burning Jeep Wrangler.
According to initial reports, early morning workers heading to their jobs discovered the vehicle.
Personnel from the State Attorney General (FGE) were at the scene collecting information. Authorities have not said if the vehicle was intentionally set or left abaondoned due to an accidental fire.
