Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — A hotel worker has been found dead on a Puerto Morelos highway after being hit by a car. Emergency personnel were made aware of the deadly hit and run after motorist reports.
Nighttime motorists reported having to maneuver around a ‘large lump’ on the highway Thursday.
Police arrived to find a dead body. The body was located near the Villa Morelos II subdivision and appeared to have been run over several times before authorities arrived.
A local union card found in a pocket identified the deceased man as 30-year-old Bautista “C”, a Puerto Morelos hotel worker. It is believed he was attempting to cross the highway in the dark when he was struck.
National Guard and Public Ministry officials were at the scene to redirect traffic while the body was removed.
