Lázaro Cárdenas, Q.R. — A suspect initially arrested for drug trafficking has had abduction added to the list. Cristo Marcos “N” who was a council member in the previous Lázaro Cárdenas municipal administration, is now also facing charges in the abduction of two men.
According to police, “the events under investigation occurred on April 10 of this year in Kantunilkín in the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas when the victims were allegedly deprived of their liberty by four individuals who, using long weapons, threatened them into getting into a vehicle.
“They were later found dead.”
Investigative Police officers initially arrested Cristo Marcos “N”, “who was a council member in the previous municipal administration, for acts possibly constituting drug trafficking offenses.” They seized him with alleged doses of marijuana. He was captured near the Colonia Yucatán-Kantunilkín highway.

After his arrest, the police investigation took a turn to his alleged involvement in the abduction of the two men who were later found dead. Police did not identify the deceased men or comment on a motive for their abductions.
