Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — The driver of a car was transferred to hospital in serious condition after slamming into a tree. Municipal police were at the scene of the single vehicle accident Tuesday at kilometer 14 of Ruta de los Cenotes.
The private vehicle was left completely wrecked after the driver hit a tree at the entrance of a property. He was traveling the narrow federal highway that runs west of the town of Puerto Morelos when he crashed.
The male driver of the car was in the process of taking a corner when, due to his speed, he lost control and veered off the road.
Traffic and Road Safety personnel received the report of accident from a passing motorist. Rescate Nacional were part of the responding emergency personnel.
Paramedics from Puerto Morelos assisted the driver after firemen used the jaws of life to extract him.
He was transferred to hospital with a multitude of injuries.
