Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — One dead and others reported injured in a late night two car crash outside Puerto Morelos. Emergency responders had a section of the highway closed to traffic while they cleared the scene.
Puerto Morelos firemen were requested to remove trapped people from inside one of the cars. According to available information, the accident happened on the federal highway in Puerto Morelos Thursday night when one car crashed into the back of another.
The driver of the back car, 56-year-old Anibal “S”, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her red car was located nose-down in highway brush after slamming into the back of another car.
Paramedics from a responding ambulance attended to the injured from inside the car that was rear-ended.
Puerto Morelos firemen were assisted by National Guard Highways and Municipal Police at the busy highway accident scene. While excessive speed is being factored into the accident, an official cause has not yet been determined.
