Driver jumps off motorcycle seconds before being rear ended by industrial truck

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A motorcycle driver is lucky to be alive after his motorcycle was rear ended by an industrial truck. Police were called to the Misión de las Flores neighborhood Tuesday morning.

The driver hopped off seconds before the dump truck hit him June 23, 2026.

Witnesses to the 8:00 a.m. accident reported both vehicles traveling on Lilis Avenue heading toward the Constituyentes Avenue intersection. As they neared the intersection, the driver of the dump truck was unable to stop in time.

He rear ended the motorcycle in front of him, leaving the bike under his front tires.

The driver of the motorcycle watched in his mirror as the truck neared. He was able to jump off his bike before being hit. While the driver was not seriously injured, his motorcycle was crushed by the industrial vehicle.

SSC (Secretariat of Citizen Security) were on scene along with paramedics to assess the driver, take statements and tow the vehicles involved.
