Criminal group members operating out of Puerto Morelos captured

Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Three men and one woman have been connected to a criminal group operating out of Puerto Morelos. Local authorities say the group of four were arrested for drug possession and are now facing charges of trafficking.

Authorities said as a result of field work, Investigative Police assigned to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Trafficking arrested four people in the act for acts possibly constituting the crime of drug trafficking.

The arrest occurred on 8th Street in the Invasión neighborhood of Puerto Morelos. Three men and one woman were apprehended at the scene and have been identified as Pablo Alberto “N”, Carlos Adrián “N”, Baltazar “N” and Esperanza “N”.

The suspects were found in possession of plant material believed to be marijuana, as well as a Vento brand motorcycle without license plates.

“Initial investigations link these individuals to a criminal group that generates violence and is involved in drug trafficking in the municipality,” police said.
