City council of Puerto Morelos approves 50 million in projects

Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — The Puerto Morelos city council has approved modification to the Annual Investment Program (PIA) for fiscal year of 2020, which will bring benefits to hundreds of families in terms of urban infrastructure, while reducing lags.

During the city council meeting, which was led by Mayor Laura Fernández Piña, members gave the green light to include projects in the amount of about 50 million peso to continue transforming the image of Puerto Morelos.

“This is a package of projects that will improve the urban infrastructure and therefore the quality of life of the inhabitants, while we will reduce lags in terms of paving, public lighting and construction of sidewalks and fittings, among other items,” said Laura Fernandez.

The expansion to the PIA 2020 budget for urban infrastructure includes the construction and improvement of roads on streets 8, 7, 6, 5 and prolongación Propela, as well as the colonies of La Fe and Tierra Nueva, areas which will also see the placement of public lighting and sidewalks.

The infrastructure package also includes the paving of calle Vallarta, which is the main access to the so-called Urban Zone of Puerto Morelos. The street will also see the installation of absorption wells and sidewalks.

Fernández Piña says the benefits of the PIA will also reach Superblocks 17 and 18 in the municipal seat, with the construction of sidewalks and garrisons.
