Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun city bus driver was arrested Sunday from a fatal motorcycle accident. The driver of the bus was taken into custody after a motorcycle driver hit by his bus died.
The two vehicle accident happened Sunday afternoon on Jose Lopez Portillo Avenue.
Police and ambulance personnel were on scene in response to motorist reports of the accident.
Witnesses reported that the driver of the city bus was allegedly racing against another bus when he hit the motorcycle. The driver of the bike was found laying across his motorcycle in the center of the avenue.
Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. He has not been publicly identified.
The driver of the city bus was removed from his unit and taken into legal custody from the scene Sunday. Cancun Transit officers did not comment on possible charges.
