Boyfriend charged for killing his Cancun girlfriend during heated argument

Cancun, Q.R. — The main suspect in the June 5 murder of a Cancun woman has been formally charged. According to the State Attorney General (FGE), Mauricio Raúl “N” has been charged with killing his live-in girlfriend.

Police said in a statement that Mauricio Raúl “N” stabbed her during an argument on the night of June 5. She died inside their shared home from the injuries sustained due to the stabbing.

According to the police statement, “Mauricio Raúl “N” is accused of events that occurred on June 5 of this year, in a residential complex located in Supermanzana 330, on Eucalipto Street.

“Initial investigations indicate that the now-accused man lived with the victim at her home and was with her both the day before and on the day of the incident. Following an argument, he attacked her with a knife, inflicting wounds that caused her death.”

Authorities say Mauricio Raúl “N” has been charged in her death and ordered to remain jailed for the duration of his trial.
