Bicyclist killed in late night Lázaro Cárdenas accident

Lázaro Cárdenas, Q.R. — A cyclist in his thirties was killed Sunday while riding on a dark section of Lázaro Cárdenas highway. Paramedics were called to the accident scene outside the town of Kantunilkín shortly after midnight.

There, responding emergency services located a red bicycle and white pickup. They also found the bike rider, 35-year-old Daniel “C” who was pronounced dead at the scene. He is reported to have suffered serous head trauma. He was not wearing a helmet when he was struck.

Elements of the National Guard were charged with securing the accident site until medical services arrived. There was no word on possible charges.
