Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Puerto Morelos authorities have ruled out sources of smoke being reported around the municipality. On Monday, the Puerto Morelos City Council said drone flights made by the SSC have not shown any active fires.
Drones were used over Bahía Petempich, Crococun, CEMIX, Super Aki, Villas 2, the surroundings of the Puerto Marino and Selva Escondida residential areas, as well as at kilometer 4 of the Cenote Route, at different times of the day.
As a result of these efforts, no active fire has been detected in the vegetation at the points reviewed so far, City Council reported.
The flyovers were made in response to reports of the presence of smoke recorded in various parts of the municipality in recent days. The Puerto Morelos City Council, through Civil Protection, Citizen Security and Firefighters, are maintaining coordinated actions to identify its origin.
So far, they have ruled out the presence of active fires in the area.
From the early hours of Sunday and Monday, members of the three areas carried out patrols and surveillance work, while the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) carried out drone overflights in strategic points of the municipal capital.
Municipal authorities continued their patrols and surveillance efforts on Monday to determine the source of the smoke and to address any reports that may pose a risk to the population.
Likewise, reports from citizens are addressed and constant vigilance is maintained against any situation that could put the families of the municipality at risk, they said.
