Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Two local youths were killed Tuesday morning in a highway accident in Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. between two private vehicles.
Paramedics were called to the scene of the crash where they located a crumpled car and a damaged red pickup truck. The injured from the car were already being transferred to hospital by the time the ambulance arrived.
One of the youths from inside the car died on the way to hospital. The second youth died shortly after arriving at the Felipe Carrillo Puerto General Hospital. Both males were reported to be 26 and 27 years of age.
According to early information, the driver of the pickup crossed the center line into oncoming traffic that caused the deadly crash. The unidentified driver of the truck was arrested from the scene.
On Monday morning, another highway accident in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto was reported between a combi and dump truck that left several hospitalized.
