Two adults, two minors arrested in Cancun taxi shooting

Cancun, Q.R. — Four people have been arrested in the shooting deaths of two inside a Cancun taxi earlier this week.

In a press release, the Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo says that an investigation into the drive-by shooting that left two dead and three injured has resulted in the arrest of four people. Of those arrested, they report two are adults and two, minors.

The shooting took place at Hacienda La Ventilla Avenue in SM 201 of Cancun when witnesses called Emergency 911 after people on motorcycles began a targeted attack on those inside the taxi. Two people were killed and two injured inside the car, while a third man, a passing combi driver, was hit by a stray bullet in the leg.

La Fiscalía General de Quintana Roo says shortly after the attack, they arrested the four, two of which have been identified as Luis N and Juan Carlos N along with two minors.

Guns were found at the time of the arrests. Police say their investigation continues.
