Cancun, Q.R. — Two people lost their lives in a gunfire attack against a taxi cab in Cancun. The attack also left three injured.
Emergency 911 received the report at 7:45 p.m. of gun shots against a taxi carrying passengers along Leona Vicario Avenue in SM 201. Police arrived to confirm the attack and call for medical help.
Reports say the shooting was directed at those inside the taxi and not a random shooting. One male and one female inside the taxi died from gun shots. Two others inside were injured. The driver of a passing combi was also injured when he was hit in the leg by a stray bullet.
The wounded were taken to the General Hospital. Witnesses say the shots were made by people on motorcycles. There have yet to be any arrests.
