Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — Mayor Lili Campos has announced a resurfacing project for the town of Puerto Aventuras. The project began Thursday, which will see the town’s two main avenues repaved.
Campos says those two avenues, Calzada del Sol Avenue and Eje de la Aurora Avenue, which connects Puerto Maya with Puerto Aventuras, serves over 22,800 residents.
“For this urban area to modernize and renew, it definitely needs decent streets, so it is for this reason we gave the flag for the resurfacing of these two roads,” she said.
Other projects set for Puerto Aventuras yet this year include the paving of Chicozapote Avenue, the construction of a sports field dome for the Benjamín Bloom Elementary School and the rehabilitation of the roof of the multi-sports space of the Lol-Be Park.
Lili Campos also said that in terms of projects, the Community Development Center (CDC) will be remodeled in response to requests from citizens, and that pedestrian walkways will be built and more absorption wells added to streets.
The mayor of Puerto Aventuras Gilberto Gómez thanked Campos for supporting and assisting the town in upgrades.
Due to growth, Puerto Aventuras was outfitted with its first traffic lights. In April, two sets of traffic lights were installed. The improvements are part of a 37-million-peso municipal project package earmarked for the town.
