More than 6,800 state health care professionals granted bonus

Chetumal, Q.R. — The government of Quintana Roo, through the State Health Services, has granted the outstanding bonus to more than 6,800 health care professionals around the state.

The government says it has awarded 6,810 health care workers a benefit of 3,000 peso in food vouchers. The payment of this benefit is part of the agreements reached with the union representatives on December 18, in response to the request of its workers to receive the outstanding bonus.

Alejandra Aguirre Crespo, Secretary of Health of Quintana Roo, explained that the payment of this benefit is a recognition of health workers. “The objective is to recognize the work of health professionals who worked since the beginning of the pandemic and are still active,” she stressed.

The bonuses were paid after health care workers in Chetumal and Cancun demonstrated for lack of promised Covid pay. In December, the government agreed to provide the workers with food vouchers and additional paid holiday time.
