José María Morelos driver flees after rear-ending car

José María Morelos, Q.R. — Five people were hospitalized after their compact car was rear-ended by a truck. The two adults and three minors were taken to José María Morelos hospital after the Sunday night accident.

The compact car was slowing for a stop sign at the intersections of Huay Max and Ichmul Streets in the San Juan neighborhood around 10:00 p.m. when it was hit from behind. The heavy impact of the truck carried the car more than 10 meters before breaking free. The driver of the pickup truck kept going.

Accident witnesses were able to describe the truck and identify the fleeing driver. Municipal police were on scene along with firemen and paramedics who transferred the car’s five occupants to hospital.
