Head-on highway crash sends two to José María Morelos hospital

José María Morelos, Q.R. — A head-on high speed highway collision has sent two drivers to hospital. On Wednesday afternoon, two compact cars crashed head on in the municipality of José María Morelos.

Passing motorists made the 2:30 p.m. report to authorities. Paramedics and highway traffic responders found the two heavily damaged vehicles along a section of the Federal 184 highway.

The crash happened on a section of road known as the Devil’s Curves. National Guard Highway Division were at the scene of the federal roadway crash where they guarded the accident site.

Authorities were not sure exactly how the two cars hit one another on the clear dry roadway. One car belonged to a company. The second vehicle was a taxi belonging to the community of Chunhuhub in the municipality of Felipe Carillo Puerto.

Both drivers were reported in serious condition. Their vehicles were completely destroyed in the two-car crash.
