Firemen called to deal with nearly finished palapa that went up in flames

José María Morelos, Q.R. — Firemen from the municipality of José María Morelos were sent to a property Saturday to put out a palapa fire. Area residents from the Vicente Guerrero neighborhood reported the burning building to authorities Saturday afternoon.

Firemen arrived around 2:00 p.m. and began to extinguish the extremely dry building material used to construct the building. The palapa was under construction when it caught fire and burned.

There were no injuries reported. Unfortunately, the entire structure was destroyed. Firemen did not report a cause for the fire.
