FGE heading investigation into revoking operating permits of Cancun taxi drivers involved in Uber attacks

Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun mayor Ana Patricia Peralta says reviews are being conducted to locate those involved in the latest hotel zone blockade. The involved taxi drivers will have their concessions revoked.

On Tuesday, Peralta said that some concession revocations for members of the Andrés Quintana Roo Taxi Drivers Union are already in progress. The permits to operate in the city are being revoked as a consequence of the recent violent acts against Uber drivers.

“The processes of some concession revocations are already in place. We do not want to give a specific number on how many because then it hinders the investigations,” she said.

The mayor of Cancun said that the investigations are not being done by the Quintana Roo State Mobility Institute (Imoveqroo), who heads the state’s mobility concessions, but by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
