50 kilos of drugs seized from home of group believed involved in recent murder

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — La Fiscalía General del Estado reports that they have seized 50 kilos of drugs from a Playa del Carmen home after the arrest of five they believe involved in a recent murder.

In a press release, the State Attorney General’s Office says that investigative ministerial police and prosecutors of the public prosecutor’s office completed a search in a home in the residential area of 28 de Julio where five packages of marijuana were found.

The search was made after a judge issued a search warrant for the home based from evidence obtained after the recent arrest of five who are believed involved in a Playa del Carmen murder that occurred February 22 when a young man was shot and killed while driving his motorcycle.

They say inside the home, police found five 10-kilo packages of marijuana. The drugs were seized and handed over to the prosecutor’s office as evidence.
