Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Following fieldwork, the State Attorney General requested and obtained a search warrant for a bar. The search took place over the weekend at a bar located on 61st and 78th Streets in the town of Felipe Carrillo Puerto.

Investigative Police secured five women from inside, alleged victims of human trafficking in the form of prostitution. Police say the women providing sexual services “for which customers paid between 800 and 1,000 pesos per half hour, of which the establishment received 50 percent of the profit.
“According to initial investigations, the women came to the place to apply for work as waitresses. Once hired they were forced to offer sexual services.”
During the search, officers seized documents, cash, a video recorder, and packages of condoms. After completing the search, the participating officers placed the security seals on the property, which was placed under the custody of state.
