Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — A female passenger was left seriously injured after a late night accident Sunday. The woman was rushed to hospital with numerous life threatening injuries after being thrown from a vehicle.
The woman, Amanda “N”, was located deep in highway vegetation Sunday night after the car she was in blew a tire. The male driver, her husband Óscar “N”, lost control near the Tulum airport and spun into the jungle where the car came to a stop.
The couple were helped by a group of motorcyclists who were driving through the area. After seeing the wrecked car, they called emergency services. Amanda “N” was transferred to an IMSS Hospital in Playa del Carmen, while Óscar was transferred for medical attention after suffering less serious injuries.
National Guard Highways were on scene to assist Tulum firemen and Civil Protection.
