Cozumel, Q.R. — A woman who was part of a trio of tourists found at Playa las Casitas despite the current beach and swimming restrictions, was taken to hospital.
Monitoring police officers found the trio of visitors at the island’s popular Playa las Casitas. When they were told they had to leave the beach and return to their accommodations, one of the young women attempted to flee police by running into the sea and swimming away.
However, she was pulled from the water by three Civil Protection lifeguards. She was returned to the beach and transferred to a private clinic. There was no word on charges. The other two beachgoers left the beach, which remains closed due to the coronavirus epidemic.
