Two bars closed in Cancun after police find drugs

Cancun, Q.R. — Two bars in Cancun have been shut down after inspections found them in possession of drugs.

In a report from the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE), police were part of an operation that included inspecting bars and restaurants in various parts of the city of Cancun, explaining that the objective was to inhibit the crimes that have been impacting the state.

The Fiscalía General del Estado says that as a result of their operation, two people found in possession of narcotics were taken into custody and that two establishments were shut down after drugs were found on site.

Ministerial agents placed seals across the Guanatos bar in Plaza de Toros de Cancún and across Genesis bar, located in Supermanzana 69.

The FGE reported that the operation involved the police and military corporations that make up the state security coordination for Quintana Roo.
