Cozumel, Q.R. — The Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo reports that ministerial police officers obtained the arrest of Ricardo N and Dionicia N for the crime of human trafficking to the detriment of a minor victim of reserved identity.
La Fiscalía General del Estado de Quintana Roo say the events occurred in a bar located in la colonia Huertos Familiares after ministerial authorities were alerted through emergency 911 of the presence of a minor person who was prostituted for 130 peso.
Elements of the Ministerial Police and National Guard arrived and were able to verify that the young woman was there.
Armando Pérez Pérez of the Policía Ministerial en Cozumel confirmed that after interviewing her, the commission of the crime was corroborated. The minor, who worked in the bar, also served clients. The two adults were taken into police custody for the public prosecutor.
The minor, who is 16, will remain in the protective custody of DIF — el Sistema Nacional para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia, who will ensure she receives the necessary medical, legal and psychological care.
