Akumal, Q.R. — Two youths were gunned down and left for dead on a pedestrian overpass in Akumal. The broad daylight shooting happened Wednesday afternoon as the pair were returning from work in Tulum.
The shooting was registered around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, where according to witnesses, a lone gunman appeared and shot both of the youths before fleeing. The alleged shooter fled into the town of Akumal where he and a second person were reportedly captured by police after attempting to hide inside a barracks.
The deceased, both between the ages of 20 and 22, have been identified as Kike N and Eduardo N, both natives of Akumal. They had recently begun working at a restaurant in Tulum.
